Privacy Policy

Your text never reaches us.

Strippr is built so there is nothing to leak: your content is processed on your device and never transmitted. Here is exactly what that means.

Last updated: July 2026 · Effective: July 2026

Zero content collection

We never see, store or transmit the text you redact.

Full transparency

No hidden data practices. This page is the whole story.

Minimal analytics

Anonymous, aggregate site stats only — opt-in.

How Strippr works

Strippr is designed with privacy as the foundation. When you use it:

  • • Your content is processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript.
  • • Nothing is uploaded to our servers or any third-party service.
  • • Your data never leaves your device.
  • • We cannot see, access or recover your content.

The Strippr Chrome extension

The browser extension follows an even stricter standard than this website:

  • No network requests: the extension makes no requests to any server — ours or anyone else's. All detection and redaction runs inside the extension popup on your device.
  • No analytics: the extension contains no tracking or telemetry of any kind.
  • Local storage only: the only data it stores is your settings (active locales, replacement text) and aggregate usage counters. This stays in Chrome's local extension storage on your device and is never transmitted or synced.
  • No account: no sign-up, login or personal information.

The extension requests only these browser permissions:

  • storage: to save your settings on your device.
  • clipboardWrite: so the “Copy” button works.
  • activeTab & contextMenus: to offer the right-click shortcut for opening Strippr.

What we don't collect

Personal content: we never see the text, documents or files you anonymize.

Personal information: no names, e-mails, phone numbers or addresses.

Account data: no registration, no login, no user profiles.

What we do collect (website only)

To improve the website, we collect minimal anonymous data — never your content:

  • • Usage statistics: number of documents processed (not the content).
  • • Feature usage: which features are used most.
  • • Technical data: browser type, device type (mobile/desktop).
  • • Geographic region: country-level only (not precise).

This data is aggregated and anonymous — it cannot be linked back to any individual.

Cookies & tracking

Essential cookies: required for basic functionality (remembering your preferences).

Analytics cookies: optional, to understand how the site is used. You can opt out.

No advertising: we don't use advertising cookies or sell data.

Your rights

Since we don't collect personal data, there's no personal data to access, delete or modify. You keep complete control over your content at all times.
